Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5, 1956, on the outskirts of Woodland Hills California. Her father was an elementary school teacher, while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. McCormick began dancing and singing at an early age and would often perform plays with puppets for the kids in her community. She won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was approached by Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to join the business of show production. McCormick got her first big job in 1964 when she starred in a TV commercial featuring Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. That year that followed, she appeared in another television commercial for the doll Chatty Cathy. The following year, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the third of three head-to-head daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five years. McCormick wrote in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season of the show in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. The actress was only 16 when the incident occurred; he was 19. It would have happened she said but the timing was never right for us.
